City couple gets Senior Coach License in Kickboxing

The ‘WAKO India Kickboxing National Training Camp 2019’ conducted by ASD Fight Club, Mysuru, concluded with the Awarding Ceremony at a private hotel in city recently.

The event was sanctioned by ‘WAKO India Kickboxing Federation’ and organised by Pooja Harsha, CEO – ASD Fight Club.

Around 150 athletes and coaches from 23 States/UTs took part in the five-day camp that consisted of two divisions — Ring Sports and Tatami Sports.

The camp featured technical sessions, sparring sessions, conditioning, pad workouts, strengthening training, high intensity workouts and theoretical session and participants were apprised about fighter behaviour during the championships, WAKO Rules and etc.

At the end of the camp, participants were awarded with WAKO National Kickboxing Coach Certificate and License. Pooja Harsha and Harsha Shankar became the ‘First Couple’ in India to be awarded with Senior Coach License (with Grade A).

While Pooja became the first woman in India to be awarded with Senior Coach License, Harsha is the first man in Karnataka to be awarded with Senior Coach License in Kickboxing.
