Kudos to SOM for publishing the excellent interview of noted poet Prof. K.S. Nissar Ahmed in three parts (SOM dated Oct. 8 to Oct. 10).
This brings to my memory the year 1971-72 when I had the opportunity of operating Prof. Nissar Ahmed for appendicitis at the then famous Bangalore Nursing Home which was located near the Central Jail (now the Freedom Park), Bangalore. He could recollect it when I met him during the opening of ‘Nityotsava’ auditorium in Krishnamurthypuram, Mysuru.
Kudos to his crystal clear memory even after 43 years. He could also remember the landmark of the Bangalore Nursing Home which was the first private institution to be started in the erstwhile Mysore State in 1938 by Dr. T.K. Dayalu, a doyen of our profession.
