Mysuru: Fighters of Academy of Martial Science (AMS), who represented Team Karnataka at the Mumbai Body Power Expo (Asia’s biggest fitness expo) 2019 MMA and Grappling Open Championships held at SRPF Grounds, Mumbai, between Jan.11 and Jan.13, won three gold, three silver and two bronze medals respectively.
The event was attended by around 1,000 participants from 24 States collectively in MMA, Brazilian Jiu jitsu (BJJ), Sport MMA and Karate.
Also, international fighters from Iran, Afghanistan, US and Germany competed for the top spot. Team Karnataka was awarded second runners-up trophy. The team is trained by international medallist and Team India coach Kru. Vikram at AMS.

Tharika Muthamma – Female MMA Bantam Weight Quarter Finalist; 8. Kritman R. Goel – Men Bantam Weight BJJ Bronze Medallist; 9. S. Anand- Men Feather weight BJJ silver medallist; 10. Charan Manjunath – Karate Silver Medallist; 11. M.B. Yashas (13-15 years) – Boys Karate Quarter Finalist.
