Mysore/Mysuru: As part of International Day Against Drug Abuse, the Mysuru City Police Drug Disposal Committee destroyed 121 kg of ganja and other narcotic substances worth Rs. 22.48 lakh Saturday.
The seized drugs and other narcotic substances were destroyed at GIPS Bio-tech, the Incinerator Plant at Gujjegowdanapura at Jayapura hobli in the district.
The City Police, in 62 cases had seized a total of 121-kg-and-704-gram of ganja and 15-kg-and-870-gram of Khat, all worth Rs. 22,48,960, which were destroyed in the presence of DCP (Crime and Traffic) M.S. Geetha Prasanna, who is also the Chairperson of the Drug Disposal Committee, Committee Members, City Crime Branch ACP Ashwathnarayan, CCRB Inspector Mohammed Irshad and other Police officials and staff.
The Police have urged the public to call toll-free 1908, Control Room on 112, 100 and 0821-2418339, if they have any information regarding storage, supply and consumption of drugs, according to a press release from the PRO, City Police Commissioner’s Office.
