Mysuru: The Mysuru City Police, in a bid to prevent crimes taking place under the cover of darkness, have intensified their night beat since 15 days.
The Cops are clicking pictures of those found moving after 12 am and are enquiring them regarding their names, address, profession, from where they are coming, reason for moving at such time and if the Police are not satisfied with the answers, the Police would take such persons to Police Station for enquiry, said DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe to SOM.
The DCP further said that awareness is being created among the public by conducting public meetings in various localities and at Police Stations by asking the public to inform their jurisdiction Police Station when they go out of station by locking the house and to click photos of those found moving around in suspicious manner in their locality and enquire them among others.
Meanwhile, sources said that the night beat has been intensifies to bring down the crime rate, prevent drunken-driving which sometimes lead to fatal accidents, prevent planning of committing dacoity and robberies on roads by miscreants after waylaying motorists.
