The gang rape of a student by some youths in this heritage city makes all of us hang our heads in shame. As a retired senior citizen, I have come across many Police Commissioners in Mysuru city. Many of them have served with distinction while some of them in a satisfactory manner. This is our perception as citizens of Mysuru.
Right from the beginning there was a sense of unease among us that the Law & Order situation was not like before with many instances which were disturbing; especially when Traffic Police hiding near traffic junctions and virtually chasing the two-wheeler riders apparently to challan them. Many a times there have been fatal accidents leading to Law & Order situation. Believe it or not, the Police at the reception bluntly refused to accept the complaint letter and instead asking us to send it by post. We know the fate of such letters. These kind of things never happened before.
We as responsible senior citizens believe that this great heritage city of Mysuru deserves an effective and citizen-friendly Police who will not fail us.
