City veterinarian dies in mishap

A 24-year-old youth died and a 19-year-old boy suffered injuries when the motorbike they were travelling rammed into an electric pole on Bogadi Ring Road in the wee hours of today.

The deceased has been identified as Sachin Lokesh, son of Dr. Sudhir Chandra, a resident of Preethi Layout in Vijayanagar 4th Stage and a Veterinary Sciences graduate. The injured has been identified as Thakshak, Sachin’s cousin, who is  undergoing treatment at a private hospital in city.

Police said that the incident occurred at around 1.15 am when both Sachin and Thakshak, who were in an inebriated condition, were returning home on KTM Duke Bike (KA 09 HF 1304). Sachin, who was riding the bike, lost control and rammed it to an electric pole located on the left side of the road.  Passersby called the 108 ambulance, which rushed to spot.

Unfortunately, Sachin, who suffered serious injuries, breathed his last while being shifted to the hospital.

K.R. Traffic Inspector Nagegowda visited the spot and conducted a mahazar before registering a case. Sachin’s body was shifted to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem.
