Mysuru- based boxing coach C.A. Kuttappa has been selected to coach the elite Indian men’s boxing team which is currently in training in France. The Indian contingent will train in France till July 24.
The team consists of Amit (49 kg), Kavinder Singh Bisht (52 kg), Gaurav Bidhuri (56 kg), Shiva Thapa (60 kg), Ashish (64 kg), Manoj Kumar (69 kg), Vikas Krishan (75 kg), Manish Pawar (81 kg), Sumit Sangwan (91 kg) and Satish Kumar (+91 kg) will then head to Usti-nad-Labem, Czech Republic to take part in the Grand Prix tournament to be held from July 25- July 30.
This is also a preparatory camp for the upcoming World Boxing Championship that will take place in Hamburg, Germany between Aug. 25 and Sept. 2.
Kuttappa, in the past, has trained Olympic medallist Vijender Singh and more recently accompanied the Indian Boxing men’s team that participated at Rio Olympics 2016 and Asian Championship held at Tashkent, Uzbekistan in May 2017.
