Mysuru: City’s S. Thanya, representing Karnataka in the 77th Senior National Swimming Championship-2024 held in Mangaluru recently, won two gold medals.
She won gold medals in 200 mts Breaststroke with a timing of 2:40.54 sec and 400 mts Individual Medley (5:08.10 sec).
Earlier, she had also won a gold and a silver medal at the 50th Junior National Swimming Championship at Bhubaneswar in Odisha. The 15-year-old had won a gold in 200 mts Breaststroke (2:40.59 sec) and silver 200 mts Individual Medley (2:28.38 sec).
A Class 10 student of Jain Academy for Sporting Excellence in Bengaluru, Thanya is trained under Gagan Ullal Math. She is the daughter of S.P. Shadakshari and N. Shwetha, residents of J.P. Nagar in Mysuru.
