Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru, has organised a Vocal Concert by Vidu. Shruthi S. Bhat at Veene Seshanna Bhavana, Ganabharathi, Adichunchanagiri Road, Kuvempunagar, on Sept. 21 at 6 pm.
She will be accompanied on violin by Vidu. Shreelakshmi S. Bhat, on mridanga by Vid. Pavan Madhav Masoor and on ghata by Vid. Srinidhi R. Koundinya.
Artiste’s profile: Shruthi S. Bhat is a promising vocalist hailing from Kukke Subrahmanya. She was initiated into Karnatak Classical Music under the tutelage of Vid. Kalaimamani Srimushnam Raja Rao and Vidu. Padma Sandilyan.
Later she continued her higher training under Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr. S. Sowmya. She is also being trained in Hindustani Music under Dr. Sriram Parasuram.
Shruthi did her advanced course in Karnatak Music from the Madras Music Academy with distinction and MA in Music from Madras University.
A ‘B High grade’ artiste of All India Radio, Shruthi has bagged several accolades including ‘Yuva Kala Bharati’ from Bharat Kalachar, ‘M.S. Subbulakshmi Award’ from Bhramara Trust, ‘Musiri Subramania Iyer Award’ from Sri Krishna Ganasabha and ‘Yuva Kalamani’ from Mani Krishnaswamy Academy.
She has performed widely in the Southern States, including Madras Music Academy, Parthasarathy Gana Sabha, Narada Gana Sbha, Sri Krishna Ganasabha, DD Podhigai, Karthik Fine Arts & Mylapore Fine Arts.
