Sir,
Thanks to the City Corporation officials for taking up the widening of Bogadi Road from two-lane to four-lane last year. However, while widening at three places, that is, opposite to RIE Quarters Gate, near the culvert close to a bar and another culvert close to the Ring Road, it was left to remain as two lanes at these stretches. This may turn out as bottlenecks on the widened road with electric poles (see photo).
It is learnt that once the road-widening work through Bogadi village is completed, Hunsur Road traffic will be diverted to Bogadi Road. At that time, traffic will slow down at these three places and it may lead to traffic congestion and pile-up of vehicles. The impatient people may start moving to other side of the divider (wrong lane), as commonly seen at many traffic signals. Otherwise also, due to poor visibility in the nights, the electric poles may pose danger to the commuters.
Hence, authorities concerned may look into the possibility of widening the Road into four lanes at these three locations also by shifting the electric poles away from the Road, as was done in other cases, and widen both the culverts to have smooth flow of traffic on Bogadi Road.
