Cava alumnus’ awareness figurines
This ‘Clock-faced Man’ with sanitiser bottle in one hand and a mask in another, an artwork created by city artist D.S. Prasanna Kumar, is to remind people not to be negligent in following safety protocols even for a second as the pandemic is spreading like wildfire.
This social awareness art piece is placed at the Dufferin Clock Tower venue as the place, even during lockdown, is most visited by people either to buy essentials in the early hours of the morning or to give samples for RT-PCR test at the kiosk nearby during the day.
The figurines also include vegetables and a few hands trying to reach-out to them showcasing how people throng the markets to buy essentials and crowd the place. Apart from that, the artist has also placed many ‘mirrors with masks’ all over the venue which he says, is to highlight the importance of wearing mask without fail every time we step out of our houses just like we see our face in the mirror before going out.
An alumnus of CAVA, Prasanna Kumar (standing next to the figurine in above right) had created similar awareness during last year lockdown too at the same venue by placing the models depicting Coronavirus.
