Mysore/Mysuru: The ground breaking ceremony and foundation stone laying for the new Congress Bhavan in city will be held on Aug. 9, said District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar.
He was speaking during the preliminary meeting held in this regard at the Congress Office near City Railway Station on JLB Road here on Aug. 6.
Continuing, he said that on Aug. 9 at 11 am, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will lay the foundation stone during which Ministers Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa and K. Venkatesh, MLAs Tanveer Sait, Anil Chikkamadu, K. Harishgowda, Darshan Dhruvanarayan, Ganesh Prasad and others will be present.
Pointing out that a lot of efforts were made to construct Congress Bhavan in city post independence, Dr. Vijaykumar said that it had not materialised then and now the time had come to construct the Congress Bhavan.
