Mysuru: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, who is in city, inaugurated a two-day Photography Exhibition organised by the City Photo Journalists as part of World Photography Day at Suchitra Art Gallery in Kalamandira here this morning.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that photography is an adventurous profession as it involves a lot of skills and risks.
Pointing out that internationally renowned photographer T.S. Satyan, who hailed from Mysuru, was a role model to photographers, CM underlined the role of photographers in sending out right messages to the people through their professional skills.
Earlier, senior journalist K. Shivakumar, who welcomed, appealed the CM for health insurance cover to all journalists, sites to those journalists who do not have a own house and as well as pension to journalists, who retire after serving for decades.
Replying to the appeal, the CM assured of seriously considering the demands and constitution of a Committee for the purpose.
Senior photographer Pragathi Gopalakrishna was conferred T.S. Satyan Photography Award on the occasion. The two-day expo, which will conclude tomorrow, will be open for the public between 10 am and 6 pm.
