Mysore/Mysuru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai inaugurated “Hasiru Mysuru”, a sapling planting initiative launched by MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev’s Rajeev Sneha Balaga by planting a sapling on Wednesday. The Balaga intends to plant one lakh saplings in and around Mysuru city.
The Chief Minister visited the “Hasiru Mysuru” programme venue on Mysuru-Nanjangud road, planted a sapling and watered it to launch this year’s greening programme.
“Hasiru Mysuru” was launched in the year 2019 and since then the Balaga has been continuing the mission of planting one lakh saplings in Mysuru city. In the first year 15,000 saplings, another 15,000 in the year 2020, 20,000 in 2021 and another 20,000 saplings are being planted in the city to make Mysuru to greener.
District in-charge Minister S.T. Somashekar, MP Pratap Simha, MLAs S.A. Ramdas and L. Nagendra, State BJP General Secretary Siddaraju, City President T.S. Srivatsa and members of Rajeev Sneha Balaga were present on the occasion.
