Bengaluru: Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Wednesday provided a financial assistance of Rs. 10 lakh each to three athletes selected for Tokyo Olympics 2020 from Karnataka.
In a function at the CM’s home office Krishna, he wished the sportspersons Srihari Nataraj, Adithi Ashok, Pawad Mirza and distributed cheques to them.
This is the first time the Indian swimming team is participating in Olympic Games. It is a matter of pride for us that three Indian athletes have been selected in this category, one of whom is an athlete from Karnataka, he said.
All three athletes selected for the Olympic Games will win a Gold medal and enhance the country’s fame and make us proud, he added.
