Bengaluru: Even as the counting process for the bypolls held for Belagavi Lok Sabha Constituency and Maski and Basavakalyan Assembly segments was on, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, in a surprise move, reshuffled District Ministers in charge of six districts of the State this morning.
According to the reshuffle that was telecast by a Kannada news channel, Deputy Chief Minister Govind Karjol, who is also the PWD Minister, has been made in-charge of Belagavi district, while Food and Civil Supplies Minister Umesh Katti has been in-charge of Bagalkot district, Forest Minister Aravind Limbavali as in-charge of Bidar district, Mines and Geology Minister Murugesh Nirani as In-charge of Kalaburagi district, Municipal Administration Minister MTB Nagaraj as in-charge of Kolar district and Fisheries, Ports and Inland Water Transport Minister S. Angara as In-charge of Chikkamagalur district.
Interestingly, none of the six Ministers have got In-charge of their Home District and four of the six districts that got new District In-charge Ministers are in North Karnataka.
