Mysore/Mysuru: As a prelude to ninth International Day of Yoga celebrations, Yoga Darshana and Yogathon programmes have been organised by Department of Ayush and Government Nature Cure and Yoga College, Mysuru, tomorrow (June 17) from 6 am to 8 am in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple in the city.
Chief Minister Siddharamaiah will attend the event that will be inaugurated by Social Welfare and Mysuru District In-charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa. Krishnaraja MLA T.S. Srivatsa will preside. Minister for Animal Husbandry and Sericulture K. Venkatesh and Health and Family Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundurao will be present.
The chief guests include Mayor Shivakumar, Deputy Mayor Dr. G. Roopa, MPs Pratap Simha and Sumalatha Ambarish (Mandya), MLAs Tanveer Sait, G.T. Devegowda, Anil Chikkamadu, D. Ravishankar, Darshan Dhruvanarayan, K. Harishgowda, G. D. Harish Gowda, MLCs A.H. Vishwanath, Marithibbegowda, Dr. D. Thimmaiah, Madhu Madegowda and C.N. Manjegowda, according to Principal Dr. Gajanana Hegde. Commissioner of Ayush Department J. Manjunath will also be present. Later, Yogathon will be taken out from Palace premises to Kukkarahalli Lake via Devaraj Urs Road and Old DC Office.
