Tourism Minister performs ‘Guddali Puja’ for development of Temples
Chinakurali (Pandavapura): “The Government has taken the responsibility to develop ancient temples under the aegis of Tourism Department,” said Minister for Tourism S.R. Mahesh.
He was speaking after performing ‘Guddali Puja’ for the development of Deviramma Temple at Gummanahalli and Sri Rameshwara Temple and Sri Anjaneyaswamy Temple in Chinakurali on Sunday.
Mahesh said that Rs.1.91 crore had been released for the renovation works of the three temples.
Speaking on the occasion, District Minister C.S. Puttaraju vowed to develop Melukote Assembly constituency. He said that Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy would arrive in Mandya on Feb.27 and launch Rs.5,000 crore worth of development works in the district which include irrigation schemes, drinking water supply to all villages, UGD works, road repairs, filling of lakes, constructions of check dams.
He added that the CM would distribute loan-waiver confirmation letters to 1.12 lakh farmers. About 50 new cars would also be distributed to beneficiaries under the self-employment scheme.
Zilla Panchayat (ZP) Member C. Ashok, Taluk Panchayat (TP) Member C.S. Gopal Gowda, Gram Panchayat (GP) President Varalakshmi Somashekar, Vice-President Nagaraj, Assistant Commissioner V.R. Shailaja, Tahsildar D. Hanumantharayappa and others were present.
