CME on recent advances in cancer treatment held in city

Mysore/Mysuru: A day-long Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme, organised by Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA), City Branch and supported by Cauvery Heart and Multi-Speciality Hospital, was held at Hotel Southern Star in city recently.

The CME was attended by over 100 delegates including Post-Graduates from Mysore Medical College and Research Institute, JSS Medical College and other private hospitals in city.

Latest and advanced techniques and concepts in cancer surgery and cancer care including HIPEC surgery, immuno nutrition, post operative pain management and airway management were discussed during the CME.

More than 25 eminent faculty from various hospitals and trained in India and abroad attended the CME programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. H.G. Manjunath, Dean and Director of Chamarajanagar Institute of Medical Sciences, who was the chief guest, lauded the efforts of the Society and wished the delegates a fruitful CME.

Cauvery Heart and Multi-Speciality Hospital Chairman Dr. G.R. Chandrashekhar, who was the guest of honour, elaborated on the complexity of cancer care and the need for holistic approach in patient care and appreciated the multi-disciplinary approach.

Dr. R. Vaidyanathan welcomed the gathering.

Dr. B.C. Vijayalakshmi presided and Dr. Satwik Telkar proposed a vote of thanks.
