Bengaluru: The ‘Chief Minister’s One Lakh Bengaluru Multi-storey Housing Scheme’ will provide homes to poor people who don’t own houses in cities and urban areas will be launched soon, Chief Minister Siddharamaiah announced here yesterday.
Participating in a review meeting with Housing, BBMP, Revenue and Finance Department officials, Siddharamaiah directed officials to finalise the modalities at the earliest.
He said that the Revenue Department should transfer land for the project to the Housing Department. Siddharamaiah, who also holds the Finance portfolio, had announced the project in the State budget proposals for 2017-18. Housing Dept. officials said 1,130 acres of land had already been identified for the project.
The parameters to identify beneficiaries include: Family annual income should not exceed Rs. 87,600. He must be the resident of the city and should not own a house or property or availed benefits in any other scheme.
