CM’s sins will not wash away by holding rally: R. Ashoka

ED letter has derailed Siddaramaiah’s plan to obtain a clean chit from Lokayukta

Bengaluru: Taking sharp jabs at the Congress Party’s mega rally in Hassan today, Opposition Leader R. Ashoka questioned whether the event would absolve Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of alleged wrongdoing in the ongoing MUDA scam investigation.

The case pertains to the illegal allotment of 14 sites to the CM’s wife, B.M. Parvathi.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Ashoka accused Siddaramaiah of committing a “sin” and sarcastically wondered if the rally could “wash away” the alleged wrongdoing.

Highlighting the role of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in unearthing details of the scam, Ashoka remarked that the CM, who previously denied involvement, now faces mounting questions.

“The law in this country is still strong enough,” he asserted, accusing Siddaramaiah of attempting to escape scrutiny by initiating a Lokayukta probe to secure a clean chit, a plan he claimed has backfired with the ED exposing the matter further.

“The CM cannot fool the people for long,” Ashoka declared, concluding his post with a pointed remark: “Truth (Satyameva Jayate) has come to haunt Siddaramaiah.”
