‘Co-curricular activities develop personality of students’

Mysuru: “Co-curricular activities help a student to develop personality which should be put to practice,” opined Dr. Y.S. Siddegowda, Vice-Chancellor, Tumkur University.

He was speaking after inaugurating the co-curricular activities of Vidyavardhaka First Grade College at the College premises here yesterday.

Siddegowda said that a great amount of responsibility lies with lecturers today to empower the students to become knowledgeable and responsible citizens. 

He expected that by 2024, India would be represented 60% by youth but regretted that unemployment problem is not resolved yet. 

He asked students to prove that they are used less and never useless in society.

Presiding over the function, Vidyavardhaka Sangha Hon. President Gundappa Gowda said that educational institutions had grown in number tremendously in Karnataka with ample facilities for students.

Sangha Hon. Secretary P. Vishwanath, Treasurer Srishaila Ramannawar, College Development Council Chairman T. Nagaraj, College Principal Dr. S. Marigowda and others were present.
