Mysore/Mysuru: A Co-operative Society of the city has been accused of cheating a share holder of RD (Recurring Deposit) and FD (Fixed Deposit) money.
Fifty-year-old Sowbhagya, a teacher from Akkihebbal in K.R. Pet taluk of Mandya district, had deposited Rs. 3 lakh as FD and monthly RD of Rs. 2,000 at Vajragiri Souharda Co-operative Society located on D. Subbaiah Road in city a few years ago.
As the terms of both the FD and RD expired in January 2019, Sowbhagya sought repayment of money. But the Co-operative Society, of which she is a share holder, failed in returning the money due to her, following which Sowbhagya lodged a complaint with the jurisdictional Lakshmipuram Police accusing the Society President, Vice-President and other Directors of cheating her.
