College lecturer arrested for sexually harassing student

Mysore/Mysuru: A lecturer of a college in Mysuru has been arrested by the City Police on charges of sexually harassing a female student. According to a press release from the Police, the lecturer stands accused of sending sexually explicit photos, videos and messages to the student’s mobile phone, as well as subjecting her to sexual harassment.

Additionally, the accused had been coercing the girl by threatening to manipulate her exam grades and fail her in the internal examinations if she disclosed the matter to her parents.

The complaint was lodged at Lashkar Police Station, leading to an investigation that resulted in the lecturer’s arrest on May 3. The lecturer has since been placed under judicial custody.

The investigation was carried out by Lashkar Inspector P.P. Santhosh, Sub-Inspectors Chandrashekar and Anil Kumar, ASI Siddaraju and staff Chethan, Lingaraju, Chinnappa, Manjunath, Nadaf, Sathya and Manjunath Ramesh with the guidance of senior officers.
