Mysuru: Colonel Chander Pal Singh Soemwal has taken charge as the Commanding Officer of the 3 Karnataka Girls Battalion NCC, Mysuru Group, succeeding Colonel Rajeev Kumar.
A seasoned officer of the Rajputana Rifles Regiment, Col. Soemwal brings over 29 years of exemplary service in the Indian Army.
Col. Soemwal, a native of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, began his illustrious career in 1995 after graduating from the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.
He is a graduate from Shivaji College, University of Delhi and a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Management from IIHMR Bangalore. His diverse service record includes operational, administrative and academic appointments across various formations.
He has held key appointments in various formations of Indian Army. Most recently, Col. Soemwal commanded the 2 Maharashtra Artillery Battery in Nagpur. His dedication and expertise have been recognised through numerous medals, including the High Altitude Medal, Operation Vijay Medal and 20 Years Long Service Medal.
The NCC Mysuru Group looks forward to Col. Soemwal’s leadership, particularly in empowering young cadets and enhancing their skills.
Col. Soemwal expressed his commitment to fostering discipline, leadership and camaraderie among cadets, continuing the proud legacy of his predecessor, Col. Rajeev Kumar.
