Mysuru: Former MLC D. Madegowda has asked newly-elected Chamaraja BJP MLA L. Nagendra to come up with concrete proposals on development and make honest efforts to implement them. Addressing a gathering of party workers to felicitate Nagendra at a function hall in Vijayanagar here on Saturday, Madegowda wished that Nagendra would meet the aspirations of the people of the constituency who have elected him with a huge margin.
Speaking after receiving felicitation, Nagendra said that there is a huge responsibility on him for facilitating the victory of BJP nominees in the upcoming Legislative Council polls from South Teachers Constituency that covers Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Hassan districts, where B. Niiranjana Murthy is the party nominee and thus further strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Pointing out that he eyes future poll victories, the newly-elected Chamaraja MLA also vouched to work for the victory of at least 15 candidates in 21 Wards coming under the ambit of his Assembly constituency in the MCC elections scheduled to take place later this year and also for the 2019 LS polls.
Appealing the party workers not to get disappointed over the recent developments in the State, especially when the unholy and opportunistic Congress-JD(S) combine is at the helm, Nagendra extended confidence that State BJP Chief B.S. Yeddyurappa will become CM of the State again in six months.
Former Mayor S. Satish (Sandesh Swamy), who lost from N.R. Constituency, wanted Nagendra to take cue from late former MLA H.S. Shankaralingegowda, who won on a BJP ticket four times in a row from Chamaraja constituency.
Sri Ilai Alwar Swamiji graced the occasion. City BJP President Dr. B.H. Manjunath, Corporator T. Girish Prasad, leaders Thontadarya, Jayaprakash, C. Basavegowda, K. Madesh, B.P. Manjunath, M. Shivakumar, M.K. Shankar, Vanitha Prasanna, Mallappa Gowda , Mahadevappa and Srivatsa were present.
