Mysuru: An interaction with senior officers of the Department of Commercial Tax has been organised by Contractors Associations of MCC and MUDA on Nov.10 (tomorrow) at 10 am at Cauvery Auditorium in KSOU premises.
Disclosing this at a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here recently, MCC Contractors Association President Chandrashekaraiah said that the introduction of Goods and Services Tax (GST) was eating into the income of the contractors. He pointed out that earlier Value Added Tax (VAT) was only 4% while GST is now 12% which is a burden. He further said that the GST payable by contractors in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra are borne by the respective State Governments.
Additional Commissioner of Commercial Tax B.V. Ravi and Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Tax D.P. Prakash would interact with the contractors.
MCC Contractors Association Honorary President C. Venkatappa, General Secretary M.N. Harshavardhana and MUDA Contractors Association Secretary C.D. Krishna were present at the press meet.
