Mysore/Mysuru: At a time when the Supreme Court has ruled that stray dogs have a right to live and nobody has a right to kill them, five stray dogs (community dogs) have been found missing on July 5 in Vijayanagar Third Stage. Shockingly, two carcasses were recovered the very next day and animal activists suspect that this is a case of poisoning.
The dogs were found missing from Vijayanagar Third Stage A Block and were active in guarding the streets. According to People For Animals (PFA) all the dogs were sterilised and vaccinated. A lady by name Shobha was feeding the dogs daily.
As it is a suspected case of poisoning, a post-mortem was conducted by the jurisdictional Government Veterinarian and the samples have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory.
