Sir,
N.K.A. Ballal’s article titled “Do compliment your spouse” (SOM dated Aug.28) is again one more heart-touching message to the living generation. If I start rewinding my life now, I realise that I should have behaved in a better way with my wife during my employment days.
We don’t realise the value of our best-half for the simple reason that we neglect them assuming that it is our right to transfer all our tension accumulated during the day. We expect her to absorb the tension without reacting thereby indirectly proving that men are superior.
Yes, men should start accepting their wives as they are and stop using harsh words which cannot be taken back once delivered, even with “sorry.” The post impact will have cumulative results on our life and hence we should start respecting our best-half.
Ballal is touching different angles of life and it gives me immense pleasure to read his articles which also gives me an opportunity to rewind my life. I now realise what I lost enjoying life and now cannot rewind my past life but only can analyse my lost life. I only wish the present generation, majority of whom are more concerned about their short-term enjoyment, should realise respecting their life partner instead of passing on their harsh treatment on them thinking that they have every right to do so.
We have only one life to live and we learn from our mistake/s. Learning from others based on their experience also gives a new direction to our life. For this, we should have the will to do so. Life is beautiful but we have to decide the angle of viewing this beautiful life ! Hats off to Ballal for giving me an opportunity to re-analyse my wife.
