‘Con’ doctor steals woman’s gold ornaments

Mysuru: A miscreant in the guise of a doctor has stolen gold ornaments of a woman, who had come for a scan at K.R. Hospital on Tuesday.

The victim, identified as Manjula, had come to the hospital along with her sister Sharada for a scan. When she was about to enter the scanning room, a person told her that she should not wear any ornaments during scan.

Manjula then removed all her gold ornaments weighing about 23 grams and kept it in a bag along with Rs. 1,000 cash and gave it to her sister Sharada.

After a few minutes, Sharada kept the bag containing jewels and cash on the table where the person who had claimed himself as a doctor was sitting, entered the scanning centre and came back after a few minutes.

When she checked the bag, she found the gold ornaments and cash missing.

Suspecting that the person, who had claimed himself to be a doctor had stolen the valuables, she has lodged a complaint at Devaraja Police Station.

Devaraja Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
