Mysuru: KPCC Spokesperson M. Lakshmana has accused the BJP, JD(S) and RSS of orchestrating the violence that erupted during the Ganesha idol procession in Nagamangala, Mandya district, on Sept. 11.
Addressing media personnel at Indira Gandhi Congress Bhavan on JLB Road in Mysuru on Friday, Lakshmana called the incident a ‘premeditated act’ by these groups.
He stated that Home Minister Dr. Parameshwar will soon reveal evidence exposing the conspiracy behind the communal unrest. Lakshmana claimed that a similar plot was attempted during the Ganesha procession in Mysuru, but the Congress Government prevented it.
Criticising BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra and Opposition Leader R. Ashok for making inflammatory remarks during their visit to Nagamangala, Lakshmana demanded that the two leaders be booked under the Goonda Act.
Additionally, Lakshmana cited 757 communal clashes that occurred during the BJP’s rule in Karnataka, resulting in the deaths of 21 youths.
