Congress condemns Sadananda Gowda’s remark

Mysore/Mysuru: Strongly condemning the statement of former Union Minister and senior BJP leader D.V. Sadananda Gowda that there are no competitors for the BJP in the Legislative Council polls from South Graduates Constituency, KPCC Spokesperson H.A. Venkatesh said that informed  voters have taken note of this irresponsible statement of the former Union Minister.

In a press statement, Venkatesh accused the BJP Governments at the Centre and the State of making false promises. Alleging that the Government has utterly failed in addressing unemployment, rising inflation, spiralling prices of essential commodities and such other burning issues, Venkatesh charged the BJP of misusing its power to influence or coerce voters in Government establishments and educational institutions.

Maintaining that the Congress is in a favourable position ahead of the polls, he said that graduate voters, who are dejected by the false promises and claims of the BJP, are turning towards the Congress. Asserting that the voters still remember the achievements and contributions of the previous Siddharamaiah led Congress Government, he observed that the alert voters have lost trust in the BJP Government.

He said there are many teaching faculty positions vacant for long in Universities while at the same time scores of jobless youths are searching for a job.
