Mysuru: Accusing former MP Prathap Simha and BJP State spokesperson M.G. Mahesh of disturbing communal harmony and fostering communal hatred in the society by making provocative speeches, a Congress delegation led by KPCC Spokesperson M. Lakshmana lodged a complaint with DCP (Law and Order) R.N. Bindu Mani at the Police Commissioner’s office here yesterday, seeking the arrest of the duo for their undesirable actions.
Speaking to presspersons, Lakshmana wondered what Prathap Simha, who was an MP, was doing when noted Poet K.S. Nissar Ahmed inaugurated Dasara in 2017.
“Now Prathap Simha and BJP spokesperson M.G. Mahesh are opposing the selection of International Booker Prize winner Banu Mushtaq only for political reasons. M.G. Mahesh has gone even further to issue a 24-hour deadline to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah asking him to clarify on what led him to select Banu Mushtaq. Simha and Mahesh have only been making provocative speeches and statements with an objective of creating communal disturbances and hence the Police should arrest the duo”, he said.
Lakshmana, warned of an intensive protest if the Police failed to take action against the BJP leaders.
