Congress laps up CM’s audio clip; stages protest

Mysuru: Stepping up their attack on Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa over a purported video containing his remarks on resignations of Congress and JD-S MLAs, Karnataka Congress staged a State-wide protest this morning.

In Mysuru, over a hundred members of the city and district units of the Congress party staged a demonstration at Gandhi Square seeking the resignation of Yediyurappa and Union Home Minister Amit Shah accusing them of bringing down the Congress-JD(S) coalition Government by openly encouraging defections.

The protesters said that Yediyurappa has no right to continue in the office. “We are demanding his resignation because whatever Yediyurappa and Amit Shah are doing is a conspiracy to murder democracy and constitution. He has no right to continue in the office,” he said.

“Karnataka’s present Government is an unholy Government. This Government is short of numbers. If Yediyurappa cannot win 7-8 seats, what will be the scenario? Yediyurappa will have to resign,” they said.
