Congress leader Vidyashree murder case: Accused husband arrested near Maddur

Mysore/Mysuru: Bannur Police have arrested a man, who had allegedly murdered his wife at his house in Turuganur, Bannur hobli, on May 20 night and had gone absconding.

The accused husband is identified as Nandeesh and he was arrested from his hideout near Maddur yesterday evening.

On the night of May 20, wordy duel had ensued between Nandeesh and his wife, Krishnaraja Constituency Block Congress President Vidyashree.

When their quarrel escalated, Nandeesh, in a fit of rage, allegedly picked up a hammer and struck Vidyashree on her head, killing her. Nandeesh, later went absconding.

Bannur Police, who had registered a case, had launched a hunt to nab the accused husband, who had switched off his mobile phone making it difficult for the Police to trace his whereabouts.

But the Bannur Police, following inputs from their informants, came to know that Nandeesh was hiding at a deserted place near Maddur, took the help of the jurisdictional Police, raided Nandeesh’s hideout, took him into custody and interrogated him.

Accused Nandeesh will be produced before a Court this afternoon. The Police are also collecting other information from the accused and will also conduct spot mahazar by taking the accused to the crime spot.
