Congress MP warns against ‘Operation Lotus’ agenda of BJP

MP L. Hanumanthaiah’s book ‘Sidda Nadige-75’ released

Mysuru: Maintaining that the Congress has entered the battlefield and the party should win the polls by launching a surgical strike against the BJP, Congress’ Rajya Sabha MP L. Hanumanthaiah warned the people against BJP’s dangerous  ‘Operation Lotus’ agenda, which he said would engulf the entire country if it is allowed to happen.

He was addressing frontline Congress party workers of Mysuru region at the Congress Bhavan near the City Railway Station here recently.

Accusing the BJP Government of being a 40 percent Commission Government, Hanumanthaiah underlined the reasons why the Congress must return to power in the State in the interests of the common man.

Alleging that the BJP had opposed nationalisation of Banks that happened in the late sixties, he said that the then Sangh Parivar had also questioned why the poor needed Banks.

Asserting that those against the poor cannot waive off loans of the poor, he said the BJP, which waived off Rs.16 lakh crore loans of Corporates, cannot understand the plight of the poor people.

Maintaining that the BJP always stood for the haves and never worked for the have-nots, he charged the BJP of rampant corruption and indulging in casteism and communalism.

Noting that Congress stands a good chance of coming back to power, with many pre-poll surveys predicting a Congress victory, Hanumanthaiah asked partymen to be cautious while making public speeches as any controversial or debatable remarks could mar the party’s prospects.

“The BJP is out to destroy the Constitution through its actions. The Congress should be wary of the BJP’s policy of divide and rule and take measures to educate people on BJP’s ploys”, he said while appealing the electorate to throw out the BJP Government from power both at the State and the Centre.

Former Rangayana Director C. Basavalingaiah released L. Hanumanthaiah’s work ‘Sidda Nadige-75’, marking the 75th birthday of former CM Siddharamaiah.
