Mysore/Mysuru: Strongly condemning the alleged derogatory remarks made by BJP National Secretary C.T. Ravi and State BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel against Opposition leader and former Chief Minister Siddharamaiah, the City and District Congress staged a demonstration at Gandhi Square in the city this morning seeking action against the two BJP leaders.
Lashing out at Ravi and Kateel for their derogatory and inciting remarks against Siddharamaiah, who is a former Chief Minister and a senior Congress leader, the protestors demanded immediate arrest of C.T. Ravi for his inflammatory and unparliamentary language and also action against Kateel for his irresponsible statements targeting the former Chief Minister in the run up to Sindhagi and Hanagal by-polls.
Raising slogans against BJP leaders and the Government, the protestors warned of staging a massive demonstration if no action is taken against the two BJP leaders.
Former MLA M.K. Somashekar, City Congress President R. Murthy, District President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, leader M. Lakshmana, Corporator Shobha Sunil and other Congress leaders addressed the protestors. Former Mayors Pushpalatha Chikkanna and T.B. Chikkanna, leaders Shivanna, Bhavya, Hinkal Prakash and others were present.
