Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his Deputy D.K. Shivakumar, who is also the KPCC Chief, will lead a Congress Party march to Raj Bhavan on Aug. 31 to demand sanction of prosecution of Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy in a mining lease case and three former BJP Ministers facing corruption charges.
The Government has already urged the Governor, through a Cabinet decision, that he should act on pending prosecution sanction requests. Announcing the march here yesterday, Dy.CM Shivakumar said that the State Govt. has requested the Governor to accord sanction for prosecuting Kumaraswamy for signing the file granting mining lease to the dubious Sri Sai Venkateshwara Minerals when he was the CM in 2007, in whose connection the Lokayukta has sought his prosecution. The Lokayukta has also sought the prosecution of the three former BJP Ministers — Shashikala Jolle, Murugesh Nirani and G. Janardhan Reddy — who are facing corruption charges, he added.
“The march will start from Gandhi Statue near Vidhana Soudha and reach Raj Bhavan. The Chief Minister, Ministers, all MLAs, MLCs and MPs of the party will take part in the rally,” he said adding that a memorandum will be submitted at the end of the rally to the Governor seeking prosecution of the Union Minister and three former BJP Ministers.
