Mysore/Mysuru: “Congress will come back to power in the State after 2023 Assembly polls, thanks to good works done by former CM Siddharamaiah during his 5-year rule between 2013 & 2018,” said former MLA M.K. Somashekar.
Speaking at a function to induct over 500 youths who joined Congress from BJP and Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) here on Wednesday, he said that people were fed up with the corruption-riddled BJP Government since 2019. “The people are angry with policies of State and Union Governments which are giving importance to plundering of resources than rolling out welfare schemes. The fuel prices have hit the roof making life of common man miserable due to the selfish attitude of Government,” he added.
Somashekar said that for the first time in 40 years history of Karnataka, Siddharamaiah Government gave corruption-free governance for five years and now, the people were repenting for voting BJP in 2018 Assembly polls. “The welfare programmes launched by Siddharamaiah will help Congress to come back to power in the next Assembly polls and a large number of BJP and JD(S) workers were joining the Congress party to make it more powerful. They have vowed to remove BJP from power in the next elections,” he added.
He claimed that the literacy rate which was 12% in the country was now 70% due to starting of hundreds of educational institutions, ITI, professional colleges. Party workers must strive hard to install the Congress Government both in Karnataka and Delhi.
A number of youth leaders from BJP and JD(S), who joined Congress, were given the party flags.
