Mysuru: The Department of Studies in Sericulture Science Assistant Professor Dr. T.S. Jagdeesh Kumar has been conferred the ‘Conservation Biologist of the Year 2018 Award’ by the International Foundation for Environment and Ecology, Kolkata.
This Award was conferred based on the recommendation of Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU), New Delhi, on the occasion of the 5th International Conference on Environment and Ecology held at Christ College, Pune, Maharashtra, recently.
According to Chancellor and President of CIU Dr. P.R. Trivedi and General Secretary International Foundation for Environment and Ecology, Kolkata, Dr. Tanmoy Rudra, this award has been instituted for a selected few accomplished persons enabling them to guide the human race living in a historic transitional period of burgeoning awareness of the conflict between human activities and environmental constraints, preparing to venture into new millennium and to finally help save the fragile and endangered planet with natural resources already overtaxed.
The recipient of this award will also help in developing a neological and neocratic approach to environment education for reducing the toil that the world citizenry exact in supporting daily life and the ever-growing problems and exerting profound pressures on the Mother Earth.
