Mysore/Mysuru: District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission Chairman B. Narayanappa has warned people against E-Commerce fraud in business transactions and other commercial online dealings.
He was speaking after inaugurating the National Consumer Day programme organised by the District Administration in association with Zilla Panchayat, Food and Civil Supplies Department, Legal Metrology Department, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum in APMC yard premises at Bandipalya on Nanjangud road here on Friday.
He said that consumers have rights concerning quality and quantity for products bought or sold online. Noting that any losses in such trading means snatching away the rights of consumers, Narayanappa said that flat buyers should be all the more careful and be wary of fraudulent documents when buying flats in apartments.
Maintaining that there will be an agreement on time limit regarding handing over properties (flats, sites etc.) upon purchase, he said that the buyers can move the Consumers Forum in case of any violation of the agreement.
Senior Civil Judge and DLSA Member-Secretary Devaraj Bhute, Vidyavardhaka College Principal Deepu, District Consumer Information Centre Co-ordinator Dr. H.S. Nagarathna, Ramani of Food and Civil Supplies Department, Mahadevaswamy of Legal Metrology Department and others were present.
