Mysuru: The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Contractors’ Association has urged the MCC Commissioner to clear the long-pending bills of contractors.
In a press release, the Association has said that from 2013-14 to 2016-17 bills worth Rs. 130 crore were pending and recently, when the Association office-bearers met the MCC Commissioner G. Jagadeesha, he had cleared bills worth Rs. 19 crore for the years 2013-14 and 2014-15.
Earlier, when bills worth Rs. 3 to Rs. 4 crore were pending, the MCC used to clear the dues whenever contractors stopped work.
At present, the authorities are ordering works where the cost is far higher than the MCC revenues.
The Association has urged the MCC to clear the pending bills as per seniority and if the bills are not cleared, contractors would approach the court, the press release stated.
