Mysore/Mysuru: The three-day third State-level convention of Karnataka Shamiyana Owners Federation, organised under the joint aegis of Karnataka Rajya Shamiyana Decoration, Dhwani Mattu Belaku Kshemabhivruddhi Sangha, All India Tent and Decorators Welfare Association and Mysuru District Pandal Owners Association, concluded at Dasara Exhibition Grounds on Tuesday.
Addressing the convention, Karnataka Shamiyana Owners Federation President R. Lakshman said that the State Government has been appealed to permit the use of DJ, loudspeakers during the forthcoming Ganesha and Eid Milad festivals. Noting that an oral representation has been made in this regard to N.R. MLA Tanveer Sait, who was the chief guest at the valedictory, Lakshman said the MLA has promised to take up the matter with the Chief Minister.
Pointing out that most of shamiyana owners have equipment and instruments related to DJ, he said that permission to use DJ, loudspeakers will economically benefit the owners in the form of rent received. As such, the Government should seriously consider the demand of the Federation, he said adding that there were over 90 stalls at the venue during the three-day event which began from Sept. 10.
Highlighting that the convention was also aimed at bringing together all shamiyana owners in the State under one roof, Lakshman maintained that the convention has been a success.
MLA Tanveer Sait, KEA CEO Rajesh Gowda and others were present. Over 4,000 shamiyana and tent owners, outdoor decorators, workers and other stakeholders from across the State attended the event over the three-days.
