Conventional rake of Mysuru-Varanasi Bi-Weekly Express replaced with LHB rake

Mysuru:  South Western Railway (SWR), Mysuru Division, has replaced one conventional rake of Train No.16229/16230 Mysuru-Varanasi-Mysuru Bi-Weekly Express rake with LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) rake with effect from 18.4.2019.

The Train commencing journey on every Thursday ex Mysuru and every Saturday ex Varanasi will now run with LHB coaches. The revised composition is 2 WLRRM Power Car, 5 LS/LSDD  General second sitting, 9 LWSCN Sleeper, 3 LWACCN Three Tier AC, 1 LWACCW Two Tier AC coaches. Replacement of second rake will be notified shortly.

LHB coaches are designed on German technology and have inbuilt safety and comfort features that are comparable to world class standards. These coaches are safer and proven to have a smooth riding comfort even at high speeds with improved suspension system and features wide windows as added advantage.

The LHB coaches are fitted with microprocessor controlled high capacity air-conditioning system which gives passengers better comforts during summer and winter season. The coaches have anti-telescopic and anti-climbing feature which lead to zero fatality in case of derailment or collision. The disc brake system of LHB coaches is superior to that of conventionally used brake system, according to a press release from Dr. S.G. Yatish, Sr.Divisional Commercial Manager and PRO, SWR, Mysuru Division.
