Hosts Karnataka suffered a humiliating 92-run defeat against Uttar Pradesh (UP) on the 4th and final day of the 4-day Cooch Behar Under-19 National Cricket Tournament at SDNR Wadiyar Stadium in Manasagangothri today.
Hosts Karnataka, who resumed their overnight score of 33/5, capitulated to 90 all out in their second innings in the first session of the final day, while chasing a modest total of 183 runs target set by the visitors UP. Shubham Mishra proved to be the wrecker in chief by bagging 7 wickets for 37 runs in Karnataka’s second innings, leaving UP the winners by 92 runs.
For Karnataka, all-rounder Samit Dravid (son of Team India’s Head Coach Rahul Dravid) was the highest scorer with 28 runs in the second innings.
Brief Scores — UP: 239 and 177 beat Karnataka: 234 and 90.
Only last week, Karnataka had recorded an innings win against Uttarakhand at the same venue.
