With soaring mercury level, people are preparing for hotter weather and are finding respite with cooling systems.
According to some shopkeepers selling electronics products such as coolers and air conditioners, people are visiting showrooms in large numbers and the sales has picked up recently.
When Star of Mysore reporter visited major electronic shops in city, it was found that many people were busy buying air conditioners and air coolers of various types.
Shubham Electronics, a major electronics store, which has around 14 branches in Mysuru city, is having a brisk sale of around 40 to 50 ACs and air coolers. At least 10 to 15 ACs and air coolers are being sold in each showroom says S. Suhas, Marketing Executive of Shubham Electronics. ‘Not only air coolers and ACs, even fans and refrigerators are in high demand and we are providing summer offers to attract more customers,’ he added.
Another major electronics shop Sri Srikanteshwara Electronics, which has 12 branches in city, also confirmed about the high demand for cooling systems. “All in all, we are selling 10 to 15 ACs and around 20 air coolers per day,’ said S. Thakur, Senior Sales Manager.
The business has seen a growth of nearly 50%, compared to last year’s summer. Despite the prices of cooling systems have gone up, this has not stopped people from buying them, said another shopkeeper.
Air conditioners of Godrej, LG, IFB and air coolers of Symphony, Voltas, Honeywell and other brands are being sold.
