Mysuru: The Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the Coorg Wildlife Society (CWS), held at its Madikeri Office yesterday, decided to revoke the expulsion of former President Col. C.P. Muthanna (Retd.) from the Society.
At the Executive Committee meeting held last month, Col. Muthanna was unanimously expelled from CWS for alleged misconduct and the use of abusive language against a fellow Committee member.
However, sources told Star of Mysore this morning that the AGM decided to revoke the expulsion after members objected to the arbitrary nature of the decision. It was felt that the step was drastic, especially concerning Col. Muthanna, who has rendered significant service to the CWS and the protection of the Kodagu landscape and environment.
The AGM deliberated on the issue in detail and Col. Muthanna reportedly apologised for the use of abusive language. Subsequently, a compromise was reached and the AGM decided that Col. Muthanna would withdraw his court case challenging his expulsion, subject to the incoming Executive Committee revoking the expulsion.
