Cop on duty injured as speeding car rams into check-post kiosk

Hunsur: A Head Constable, who was manning the kiosk at Bilikere check-post suffered fracture on his leg besides sustaining severe injuries on his head, hands and legs, when a speeding car reportedly rammed into the temporary kiosk on Saturday. The injured Cop is Lakshman, attached to Bilikere Police Station. 

Lakshman, along with Constable Sanju and Praveen, a Home Guard were checking vehicles at the Hunsur-Bilikere-K.R. Nagar junction check-post, when the speeding car (KA-09-MF-1941), driven by Siddanaika, a wholesale medical supply dealer, coming from Madikeri side rammed into the kiosk after Siddanaika lost control of the car.

Due to the impact of the accident, Lakshman was thrown away to about 10mts distance resulting in him suffering a  fracture on his leg besides getting injured seriously. Constable Sanju and Home Guard Praveen jumped away to safety. Lakshman has been admitted to a hospital in Mysuru.

Bilikere Police, who rushed to the spot, took Siddanaika into custody, seized the car and have registered a case.
