Mysore/Mysuru: KPCC Working President and Narasimharaja (NR) MLA Tanveer Sait took the officers to task, especially for their style of functioning.
Pointing his fingers at Police Department, Sait said: “Police are out to penalise offenders by installing CCTV cameras in city. Strangely, the cameras are installed at those junctions, where they are found to be unviable, while those junctions which require surveillance are left unattended without fixing any camera.”
There has been an increase in waste menace in the outskirts of the city, but there is no concrete action to impose fine on the offenders. The Government lands are being encroached upon by the mighty individuals.
“I myself have complained to the Officers about Government lands being encroached upon and the need to protect the land, but the Officers care a hoot. If this is the way of responding to a Legislator’s complaint, how can we redress the grievances of a common man,” questioned Sait, venting his anguish against the Officers sharing the dais.
Sait said: “Following the upgradation of Local Bodies to City Municipal Council (CMC) and Town Panchayat (TP), the civic authorities are busy collecting the taxes, ignoring development works. Moreover, the officials should be held responsible for the rise in number of illegal layouts.”
Under Ashraya Housing Scheme, applications have been called exceeding the number of housing units available and also selected, but the land allotted is inadequate to build the houses, even after collecting the prescribed amount from beneficiary applicants, rued Sait.
